Three ways to give each megaproject a place

Same six entries, same type and spacing (with the fixed rhythm: status pinned to the card floor, dot centred on its label). Only the background treatment changes. Hover a card to see the hover state.

ADot-matrix map Recommended

A halftone map of the region, the project's country lifted out of the dots, and the same pulsing blip as the cover pinned to the site. The EU card shows the bid race: named bids in pink, forming bids faint pink.

For
  • Continues the cover's blip grammar
  • Works for every entry, orbit included
  • Coordinates only, no per-card assets
Against
  • Needs a lat/lon per site in the data
  • Small countries need a tighter crop

BFlags

A soft flag wash in the corner, crisp flag chips beside the location.

For
  • Instantly readable
  • Trivial to maintain
Against
  • Red, blue and yellow fight the night palette
  • Orbit has no flag; Stargate needs three
  • Reads as national, not as a project

CWireframe facility

Isometric line drawings of each site. Line style carries the status: dashed is planned, pink marks what is under construction. Stargate shows its real progress: 6 of 8 halls standing.

For
  • Most "megaproject" feeling
  • Status and progress become visible
Against
  • Bespoke drawing per entry
  • Competes with the big figure
  • Says less about where
